The FoMu in Antwerp has a large collection of (historical) prints and objects. Next to a semi-permanent historical presentation, they show three projects per time slot, with an emphasis on documentary photography. Belgium has another museum for photography in the French region of the country: Museé de la Photographie in Charleroi.

The museum issues a magazine titles EXTRA, which is bi-annually presented during 'EXTRA-live' evenings. ‘Fomu-Live’ is their monthly evening of artist talks, usually related to the current exhibitions. The museum also offers workshops, masterclasses and the occasional portfolio review. It has a large library. Books can only be consulted on the site. The bookshop on the ground floor offers a wide selection of books, magazines and postcards. Attached to the museum is a good Italian restaurant, but don't expect to get a low budget sandwich there.

The museum's director is Pool Andries. Inge Henneman is the museum's curator of contemporary photography. She is also editor-in-chief of EXTRA-magazine. She can be reached at inge.henneman@fotografie.provant.be.
