Karolina Lewandowksa (1975, Warsaw) is a curator and art historian specialized in the history of photography. She is head of the Fundacja Archeologia Fotografii (Archeology of Photography Foundation). From 1999 to 2010 she worked as curator at the Zachęta National Gallery of Art, where she developed a recognizable program of photo-exhibitions. Among her shows are: She-Documentalists – Polish Woman Photographers of the 20th Century; I make only documents – photographs of Leonard Sempoliński and Reality Effect – contemporary photography and video from Poland. She is the author of numerous texts about 20th century photography. Lewandowska is finishing her PhD at the Warsaw University on photographic critique in Polish magazines between 1945 and 1989.
