MEIAC Extremadura and Ibero-American Museum of Contemporary Art is housed in the former prison of Badajoz. The collection has ann Ibero-American identity. The goals of the creation of the MEIAC in 1994 were to bring together a widespread heritage, to create a cross-border cultural relationship with Portugal and to reinforceme links that this region historically shares with Latin America.

Mornings: 10 am to 1.30 pm
Evenings: 5 pm to 8 pm
Sundays: 10 am to 1.30 pm
Open from Tuesday to Sunday.
Closed on Mondays, and on national, local and regional holidays.
