In 1989 the Hasselblad Foundation established a separate foundation, the Hasselblad Center , with the purpose of promoting scholarly research of and education in photography. In 2008, the activities of both foundations were consolidated in the Hasselblad Foundation.

The exhibition hall, situated in the Göteborg Museum of Art , kept the name of Hasselblad Center. It hosts the annual Hasselblad Award exhibition, displays historical photography and presents the work of both established and upcoming trendsetting photographers and photo-based artists. New Nordic Photography has been one of its annual exhibitions since 2004. Each year, the work of 8 to 10 young photographers is displayed. Two of them receive that year’s Victor Fellowships. Seminars and lectures are arranged with many of our exhibitions.

Director of Hasselblad Foundation is Mr. Bo Myhrman. Curator of the Hasselblad Center is Linda Frisk.

Extra information: The Swedish Network for documentary photography was initiated in 2004 and is made up of museums and other cultural institutions in Sweden with an interest in documentary practices. Hasselblad Foundation is one of them.
