Le Point du Jour is an art centre with a focus on photography, combining exhibitions, residencies and publishing. Le Point du Jour was founded through a merger between Point du Jour (a publishing company specialized in photography) and the Regional Center of Photography Cherbourg-Octeville, which hosted workshops, exhibitions and residencies.

The centre has a library. Every month, one book from the collection is highlighted on the website.

Three or four times a year, Le Point du Jour produces a publication linked to an exhibition or containing essays on photography in a broader context.

Among the centre’s activities are a residency program (several artists at the same time for the period of one year), meetings and lectures, an educational program and a prize: Prix Roland Barthes .
