The course allows students to develop their own form of expression in photography; to acquire advanced theoretical knowledge and practical skills in the areas of contemporary photography and related media; as well as formulating responses to the aesthetic and philosophical theories of the 20th century. The first year is devoted to studies in 20th-century aesthetic theory, philosophy and art criticism. Students also work on minor projects of their own and attend to guest lectures. Second year students work on their own major projects and complete a thesis-type essay. In both years, the course offers training in teaching methods, in both tutorial and lecturing form.

Extra information: Each year seven students are accepted for the Master's course.
Applicans for the Master's degree must have completed a university degree in photography or hold an equivalent qualification.
The most important grounds for selection are artistic and technical skills in photography. Selection is based on samples of work submitted and interviews.

Language of instruction is Swedish.
