Westlicht is an initiative by private collectors and photography lovers. Its exhibition policy is not easy to define: it ranges from popular theme driven photography exhibitions to monographs to work by obscure artists. Once in a while Westlicht shows a documentary project, from World Press Photo and Magnum to Megan Lewis.

Remarkable is the large and interesting collection of cameras on permanent display.

Westlicht completes its program with workshops, guided tours and a regular program of camera- and prints auction.
