Members of the Dutch Association Photojournalists / Nederlandse Vereniging Fotojournalisten (NVJ) work as independent photojournalists.
In 1997 NVF merged with the Dutch association for journalists. The association represents the joined needs of Dutch photojournalists and organises special events like the annual competition for photojournalism called zilveren camera. Independent photojournalists can turn to the NVF for all kinds of professional advice. They can also place their portfolio on the NVF website: www.defotojournalist.nl
